Animal Science

Animal science covers the biology and breeding of domestic animals. The two main objectives of animal science can be defined as optimizing the environmental requirements of animals (food, shelter, climate, etc.) and their genetic potential in terms of desirable traits. As can be understood from the definition, animal science deals with systems in which the animal is at the center. In this sense, animal science, which has a broad perspective, deals with animal production, which is one of the two main production subjects of agriculture.

Animal science is the main focus of animal agriculture. Those who have a diploma in animal science are called zootechnicians. The zootechnician is the person responsible for every step of production in the animal production enterprise. In this respect, the zootechnician has the ability to access and synthesize and use all the scientific knowledge necessary for the animal to realize a healthy production, starting from the basic structure of economy, machinery, shelter, feed crops production, soil, ecology and production tool animal.
